Republicans Sweep November Elections

Wow, anyone attending President George Bush's visit to Pease in early November was treated to a stage full of Republicans at every level, state and national. The whole spectrum was there, including Ruth Griffin, Judd Gregg, Charlie Bass, Jeb Bradley, Craig Benson and Steve Merrill. The Republicans played as a team and won as a team. New Hampshire Democrats, who largely tried to avoid one another throughout the campaign, lost and lost badly.

The only exception to the losing Democrats was the party of seven who campaigned jointly as the Property Tax Repeal Team. These Democrats played as a team and won as a team. Now, they will represent Portsmouth and Newington (New District 86) in the NH House. Our new local representatives are Paul McEachern, Laura Pantelakos, MaryAnn Blanchard, James Splaine, Terie Norelli, Jacqueline Pitts, and Betsy Shultis.
