Barbara Hill for Planning Board
Volume 32, No. 133, Town Meeting 2003, Page 7
————————
To The Voters Of Newington,
I would like your support for me as a candidate for a position on the Newington Planning Board. As a long-time resident of Newington, I have served on several Newington boards, such as the School Board for 15 years, the Historic District Commission since 1985, and the Planning Board since 1991. At present I am also a Newington Commissioner to the Rockingham Planning Commission. These experiences have helped me appreciate the special privilege of living in Newington and to be aware of the growth changes and the tax pressures we are now experiencing.
I wish to continue serving on the Planning Board for three reasons:
To cultivate smart growth development which will stabilize property values and will maintain the community amenities important to Newington residents.
To encourage economic development beneficial to the Town while preserving the natural and cultural resources which define the rural character of Newington.
To participate in the update of the Newington Master Plan which will design the future direction of Newington.
I believe that there are many of us in Newington who are very confused and concerned about the future of our lives in Town. However, there are many sincere and dedicated residents serving on the Planning Board and other Commissions who are willing to work together to make Newington a livable model for other N.H. communities. I expect to be active with state, local, private and public organizations to provide the fairest economic options for Newington property owners.
Be sure you vote, and I would personally appreciate your vote.
